I agree that these are good products but the Chinese version of TikTok (Douyin) is very different - for example it promotes more productive content and has time limits for children. It’s also interesting watching young Americans flock to RedNote and fall for influencer videos painting a misleadingly positive image of China only to get shocked back to reality when they get banned for being gay or mentioning a certain year or saying something else that’s harmless.
